Draft Software Feedback

It's never too early for a little feedback....

First up for me: the white background is pretty tough to look at for long periods at a time. A switch to even a light gray (#efefef) would take a little of the contrast away.

Draft Software Feedback

Post by Scott Boras » Tue Feb 22, 2011 2:14 pm

I was going to start a thread with suggestions. Overall a good interface, however...

1) We NEED an audible prompt for slow drafts. MDC's "NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!" is classic. It was both effective and startling. It's not uncommon to be tweaking one's que and/or doing research while waiting for their pick to come. In the first few rounds this has already caused several to have no idea it was their turn even though they were ready to pick which caused unnecessary delays.

2) Also from MDC, an indicator of how many picks until your turn somewhere visible on the screen would be helpful. Yes, I can do simple math but when planning future picks it would be nice to glance at a counter for a quick reference. I'm used to that feature from MDC.

3) A time stamp would be nice for the chat and selections. Certainly less important than the first two, but it helps give clues as to when people tend to be available and away so we can plan accordingly. When someone posts "be back after dinner," it could mean 5 mins or 3 hours. Not knowing when it was posted renders the update moot. This especially comes into play with drafters from different time zones.

4? As I'm sure you're aware, the live chat needs some tweaking. It erases history after a very short time in the flash version and when I tried to scroll through the html version, I kept getting moved to the most recent post even though nothing new had been posted and I had not scrolled in that direction.

Again, solid draft software but these enhancements would make it even better. I'll post more if I think of anything.

Any reason why you guys can't make a correction for a team? Had someone make a mistake and Tom came to fix it but didn't pick the new player said team had to do it now we are on a 3 hour delay waiting for the guy to come back?? and still waiting.....

The online/offline is not functioning properly. One owner is shown as offline (no green dot next to name)even though he is clearly online and posting in the live chat.

Michael, I can make that change now. Just email me and I'll do it. Nobody has contacted me to make a change. [email protected] if you want.

Mike, I was told he was in the room and was going to make the pick so that's why I left after fixing the mistake. I apologize for that. As Greg said we can make those picks so just contact one of us and we'll get that done. Sorry again.

There used to be a "call commissioner" or "stop draft" button... one of these would be helpful. the HTML version displays on both iPad and iPhone, but needs some tweaking (e.g. chat input on iPhone didn't show up), I wasn't adventurous enough to try drafting someone on the iPhone.

These are just friendly suggestions, kudos for getting this thing going when you did.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Greg (D) This will be added soon. We need it too, especially for live online drafts.
