NFBC ADPs Now On Your Team Pages

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 08, 2011 9:52 pm

We have now created a rolling ADP list that is available right on your team page and will be updated as current NFBC drafts finish. The first ADP is listed by going to any of your current NFBC teams, clicking on that team link, then going to STATS in the green navigational bar and pulling down to DRAFT STATS. There you'll see the results of 13 finished NFBC drafts and an ADP for every player.

This is a much easier way to do this without having to update once a week or twice before Draft Day, etc. I haven't talked with the guys to see if we can change the starting dates of these ADPs, but for now it's a good snapshot of current draft results and gives everyone the same data. I'll see if we can change the header to say NFBC ADPs, but go to DRAFT STATS now and you'll see a nice presentation of the data.

Hopefully this helps everyone as they prepare their KDS lists and get their Cheat Sheets ready. Kudos to STATS for another slick presentation of facts we all wanted and now we have a seamless way to keep this updated.

Here's the Top 200 for anyone who doesn't have a team yet:

NFBC ADPs Now On Your Team Pages

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 08, 2011 9:55 pm

The sorting of this data is pretty cool as you can sort available players by team or position. We do have the positions sorted by outfield positions and even Middle Reliever and Closer, which is interesting. I'll see if we can get OF and RP instead, but you can see what we can do with the data we have. Pretty cool. Check it out and hopefully this is a cool tool that will help you in your draft preparation.

Here's one more cool feature of this data: It shows you after your draft if you got any bargains compared to the ADPs. Now we all know the ADP is just a list of previous results and that doesn't make them perfect, but it's kind of cool to see if you reached for a lot of picks or got a lot of bargains. Here's how this is explained on that site:

The following is a list of the players drafted in Fantasy Baseball leagues as well as the average pick that was used to acquire them. If your league has drafted players, a comparison is included to show the difference between the average pick used to select a player and the pick that you used to get that same player. At the end of the list is a Draft Score for your draft that shows the sum of the differences of those two pick positions. The higher your score, the more bargains you were able to get in the draft.

Looks great Greg!

Is it possible (if not on the website, maybe via a list or excel spreadsheet) to get the earliest and latest picks to go along with the ADP's, please?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

This is a very nice feature! Extremely accessible, and it offers interesting ways to slice the data.

Is there any reason the list needs to end at 463? Can you include all of the players who have been drafted?

I enjoyed my draft last night and was just wondering is there a way to save our player rankings for all our drafts?

It would be nice as it takes 4-5 hours to do.

Thanks, Don

I really like this feature,I think it will help on setting up my team for my next draft. It really gives me a feeling for where I reached.Like most drafts adps dont always tell the story as runs may make you take a guy earlier than wanted.so with that said after 30 rounds my adp is +597.40 now does that mean i got some good deals, drafted the players nobody else wanted or drafted way too many players for player value as opposed to what was best for my team?

Where can we find the results for individual drafts? I could swear that functionality was on there as of yesterday and now I cannot find it.

Great feature. It is only showing my first 30 picks even though we are in Rd. 41 but regardless this is a great little feature to say the least.

My draft score by the way is +498.42

Just a heads up for everyone: We are updating these ADPs once a day, which means that the results of the previous night's satellite leagues and any finished Slow Drafts will be loaded into these ADPs that are only on the team pages of people who are signed up for an NFBC event. This morning you can see that we now have the draft results of 18 NFBC leagues, compared to the 13 we had listed yesterday.

Again, this will be updated once a day after results are in and this will be a CONTINUOUS ADP LIST for NFBC owners. Pretty cool data and something that will be way cool next year starting from the first Slow Draft through the final live event. This will be THE ADP LIST in the industry. I'm lovin' it.

Thanks for the data folks and keep those results coming in. Four more drafts tonight, which should be fun.

We have never allowed owners the ability to look at every single live event draft and scout other owners, so we've disabled these individual league results until the draft season is complete. At that time all leagues will be viewable for all to enjoy. But we can't have those results viewable now. I hope you understand.

Is the ADP list for 15-team drafts only? Or are they 12-team drafts included?

The ADPs on your team pages now contain 32 finished NFBC pay leagues. I think you'll find the information very valuable, especially if you haven't drafted yet. For those of you who have drafted you can see this information on your team pages and it tells you where your picks ranked compared to the ADPs. It's a pretty cool tool.

Some folks have asked for one more set of data where we list Highest Pick for each player and Lowest Pick. We will eventually get to that, but it won't happen just yet. But we agree with you that this data would be very valuable and it's on our To Do list. Thanks all.

Here's the current Top 300:

*Without an alphabetical option the pre-rankings for players are very difficult to manage and the fact that they cannot be imported to multiple leagues makes it at least twice as difficult. I can't imagine anyone who likes to pre-rank players competing in more than two leagues.

*Also, a remember me button on the front page would be nice. It is a hassle to have to put in my password upon every visit.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Agreed Brian. The remember me is being worked on, I believe. I know they are aware of that problem.

Agreed on importing your rankings once and using that for all of your leagues. We certainly want this as well. If we make this easier for you folks then you will want to play in more online leagues down the road. We are with you on this one.

Good input and thanks.
