JUICEGATE!!!

The Nevada Gaming Commission has entered the fray. The NGC is claiming jurisdiction over the controversy as the Federal probe widened. It seems the scope of violations continues to increase and the pace of the entry of rosters has raised other red flags.

Prudence Juris, a spokesperson for the Department of Justice, sighted numerous complaints about the time lag from the end of the drafting of leagues and the posting of rosters. "There are still no rosters posted that we are aware of. We will be widening our probe to the Wisconsin home office's of Krause Publication as welll as those of Stats Inc."

Juris also reiterated that this is a Federal matter due to the interstate nature of the games and management thereof.

The rock group "The Eagles" have filed an injunction in a California court against CC's Desperado's for copyright infringement. The $15 million action states that they never gave the okay for the use of their song "Desperado" as an Anthem by the two owners of the Cape Cod based team. Shawn Childs, one of the owners, said, "I didn't even know we had an Anthem??"

Greg Ambrousis whose conspicuous absence from the message boards ( It was rumored he was seen in the Bahamas making a deposit at an offshore bank) has lead to rampant speculation as to his whereabouts. A spokesperson said that "Mr. Ambrousius realizes that he had better get the rosters posted quicker than ASAP as the gamers have too much time on their hands without their rosters avaiable. It shows the intensity of the caliber of the competitors participating in our Leagues. And don't forget to signup for the NFFC."

Storm the gates! Wait, where are they? Minnesota? Iowa?

WISCONSIN? Where the H*** is Wisconsin?

I'm not lying...I need my roster...If I don't get it I may have to actually do some WORK!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

This is a great post Kevin, but I took the flight as far away from the Bahamas as possible: One to Appleton, Wisconsin! :D I wish I was in the Bahammas right now! It's funny because you came up to me on Sunday during the Ultimate Auction League and saw how tired I was and how tense I was as I wanted both of those Ultimate Leagues to go off successfully and said "aren't you supposed to be having fun?" I was, but that was a tough five days for me in Las Vegas between the Fantasy Sports Trade Conference and the NFBC auctions and drafts. I was physically spent (although several Corona's that night helped fill up the fuel tank again).

I haven't been active on the Message Boards this week because I've been reintroducing myself to my family and trying to get these NFBC leagues posted online. Tom and the guys at STATS have done a great job of that and I think we have them all posted properly as of today. By Monday I'll be back on the boards and back to responding to every post. I also want to get those Average Draft Positions listed so that we can have fun next week analyzing all of the drafts.

It's interesting because once the NFBC events were finished, I was already planning the next events. I stayed in Las Vegas on Monday to meet with our hotels for September's NFFC event and to scout for a new location for our 2006 NFBC event. The Rio is completely booked next March and we won't be returning there (some people will be glad to hear that). It's a very, very busy time each year in Las Vegas and finding hotel space there will be tough again, but I have some good leads now that will provide the space we need and give us fair room rates at the hotel.

I will announce some changes for the NFBC in 2006 next week, but for now I'm just trying to get 2005 squared away. This should be a fun week of FAAB and I want to make sure everyone understands how that works and knows how to use that system. It will be another busy week, but instead of sunning my ugly body in the Bahammas, I'll be back in little Iola, Wisconsin, taking care of the NFBC in 2005, planning the next NFFC and NFBC, and even working on the next Fantasy Sports Trade Conference, which is sure to provide even more fireworks than our last one.

Some day, though, me and the Mrs. will get to the Bahammas! :D Just not yet.

Greg, I was doing the math, this really is a labor of love for you guys - you certainly can't be retiring off of your efforts here. So while I know many of us will gripe and moan about little things, just remember, in the end, we all really appreciate it!!!

Thx

Monday after 5 p.m. You can then change them up until Sunday at 6 p.m. EST. All of the winning bids will be announced within an hour of that deadline on Sunday. Enjoy.

We have delayed the free agent bidding slightly this week just to make sure everyone has equal access to those lists. there are still a few guys who are having trouble getting on the site, although I think we got most of them squared away yesterday. Thanks for your patience everyone.

This is still terribly confusing. Can you please date the Mondays and Sundays you are talking about? As I understand it, we will be able to start bidding for players, this Monday, March 23. The first time bids will go through and managers will be able to win their guys is Sunday, April 3. Then we will have until 5 minutes before the first game on Monday, April 4 to rearrange our rosters. Is this accurate?

Yes, although between you and me I wouldn't push the '5 minutes before the first game' part if I were you.

Greg - how do rosters for week 0 work? Do we set them NOW and the system will freeze our rosters 5 minutes before the first game or do they fall back from whatever we set for week 1 on the system?

Thanks,

Dave

Okay, after rereading it, it's making more sense. Kind of curious about Dyv's question myself.

[/QUOTE]Dyv, you can set rosters for Week 0 tonight or anytime this week and then obviously change them on Monday before the first game. So if you want to load in your Red Sox and Yankees for the Sunday night game, you can do that. Then if you want to bench them for next week, you'll have a day to do so. If you just leave your lineup alone, the one you have in place now will represent your team in Week 0 and Week 1. I hope that helps.

Greg, when I got to set Roster for 4/3, it says there are no roster records and I cannot set.

Thanks in advance for the help

That's good, Greg - the missing piece (for me) was that when you activated the free agent system later tonight we would also then get access to the 'week 0' set roster piece.

Right now we have to click on the week 1 part to see our rosters.

Thanks,

Dave

Chris We're not yet ready for everyone to set their rosters since STATS is still making sure all of the rosters in all of the leagues are accurate. The plan is to have everything ready by 5 p.m. Central time today. At that point, all of the systems will be good to go from setting rosters to FAAB bidding and everything else.
