Biggest Injury Reward 2011

We've seen Utley, Beltran, Sizemore, and Roberts all over the boards. Which one (if any) will win leagues and possibly the overall?

Utley in the 14th, Roberts in the 15th, Sizemore in the 16th, and Beltran in the 21st wouldn't be a bad collection of risk, or would it?

Scott and Gekko,

That was the same league that allowed Morneau in the 7th and Morales in the 9th to the same guy. One side note...Utley was selected with the LAST pick of the 14th round or 210th player selected in that draft. The drafter could have selected with the 1st pick of the 15th round

I don't know if any of these players are really gonna help anyone regardless of where they go...It's hard to help your team when they are visiting the Doc :rolleyes:

i don't see how utley should drop past the single digits, but that's just me. if he's out a month, just stick him on bench and play replacement. good thing most people don't have the same viewpoints as me.

In the other Las Vegas Leagues he went 7th, 8th and 9th...in my online main early 7th round.

NC there lies the 100,000 dollar question...when trying to "separate your self from 390 highly competitive and for the most part very knowledgeable competitors you look get an edge anywhere you can. I agree with you it doesn't look good for Utley but hey anyone with knee pain knows as suddenly as it appeared it can suddenly go away. Many leagues in the past have been won because "rumors of the players impending doom were over exaggerated (Pujols arm injury 2 years ago comes to mind). I agree with you that Utley is in trouble, and everytime my pick came up I asked myself what about Utley and there was just too much healthy talent options on the board (in my mind to take the risk) but I also agree with Gekko after single digit rounds were completed it becomes increasingly difficult to pass on his potential. What if say he's only out for a couple of months?

Utley is on my Do Not Draft list. IMO, at best he will be affected all year. But I think he is heading toward microfracture surgery and he is doing everything to avoid that right now. When the Phils are talking about signing a used retread like Luis Castillo, things are BAD for Utley.

Took Utley Rd. 12, Pick 13 in the ME. Decent risk/reward there. I'm in Philly, and I'd be shocked if he isn't back by June 1 at the latest.

The pick I don't get at all is Morneau. How can you spend a top 70 pick on a guy who can barely get on the field 9 months after a head injury? Concussions are a disaster. Stay away.
