Breakfast at Bellagio

Post by Spartacus » Mon Mar 21, 2011 6:44 am

Next weekend, the usual suspects plus a few new faces will be once again sitting down for our annual pre-Main Event breakfast. Usually, it's a small intimate group which sits down at the IP (Imperial Palace) and eats, laughs, while unsuccessfully trying to pry draft day secrets from one another. This year we decided to switch it up a bit. Instead of the IP, we'll be dining at the Bellagio buffet at 7:30 AM. As well, under the banner of why keep a good thing to ourselves, we thought why not open this up to the entire cast of characters that share our passion? So, you're all invited to join us. Chewing the fat (literally and figuratively) will be a couple of former Grand Champions-Terry Haney and Lindy Hinkleman, our most recent GC Steve Jupinka and a bunch of us wannabe's. I suppose if Bobby Jurney and David Didonato accept our invite we may have to call this the Breakfast of Champions. It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think? Newbies, veterans, everybody is welcome to join us. Just RSVP here or by PM to let me know whether I need to get a table for 9 or section for 90. I'll keep a head count.

Bring your appetite's, wallets (Sorry Kenny Magner's not here this year to treat everyone. Maybe next year Ken? :D ) and feel free to join us for our pre-draft 'Meet and Eat'. (Attendance is mandatory for participants in LV 3 & 4)

P.S. Gregg, management is welcome too ;)

Bob, gotta admit this is killing me to read. I'm really going to miss the whole Vegas experience. The breakfast was always a special treat that Lindy and I started in year #1 and has gotten better as you and your crew jumped on board.

Kenny and I will be taking advantage of the FREE morning offerings at the Hampton Inn near Citi-Field. I'll pick up that check!

Besides all the baseball drafting, it is getting to know the NFBC family of players that make this special. Just go and read DOUGHBOYS thread on VEGAS. It is a great summary of WHY this is so special. I have no doubt that Breakfest at Bellagio will be a big hit. Enjoy guys.

ps: Bob, don't sit next to the Pig Farmer at the Bellagio. You will have three or four solid hours after the Main Event kicks off at 10am in which to enjoy his company! ;)

Thanks for the invite Bob, but after what I know is going to be a long nite gambling and drinking on Friday....I'm sure I will be looking to stay in bed as late as possible on Saturday!! Thanks again and I look forward as always to seeing you at the draft.

Aloha Bob....probably gonna pass this year or arrive a little later. Need to crank out a few miles first thing in the morning.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

Ken, I was really bummed to hear you weren't going to make it. You'll be missed to be sure. On another note, same bet this year-double or nothing? Let's use next weeks Main as the arbiter. Just a random choice, I assure you that it has nothing to do with the fact that my team from last Saturday sucks :D

David, I completely understand and respect everyone's Vegas rituals. Consider this though, you get a good night sleep on Friday instead. Have a quick bite to eat with us Saturday morning and you'll probably have a good hour to gamble and drink heavily before the draft? Just a thought........................

I'll leave a light on for you.

Damn, that browser back button is confounding!

Dan, it's not because you're going to be sitting next to me for 4 1/2 hours shortly thereafter? Y'know the enough is enough scenario? ;) Drop by after your run and see if we're still there.

You're in Matt.

Add two for breakfast. I'm bringing the brains of Team Buster, 11-year old Jason, along.

Table for 8 Racing the New Jersey Marathon on 1 May. Gotta keep the miles up even while I'm out goofing off in Vegas. I'll try to swing by once I've cleaned up. I figure if you're sitting next to me for 4.5 hours you'll appreciate it if I shower.

We already have one guy possibly arriving wrapped in a towel and wearing a shower cap, I don't see why we can't be flexible here as well Mark. This being Vegas:

That's too bad Dallas, I was hoping to find some company on the flight in from Denver, but looking forward to seeing you on Saturday if not before.

Okay, we seemed to have stalled on the omelet line here. Any other takers? Any newbies want to join us? I promise you won't have to sit on a folding chair at the little table with the kids! :D

[/QUOTE]Bummer Dave, I'm flying out on United (10AM-ish) from Concourse B. SWA fly's out of Concourse C, distance wise it's like a completely different time zone. Although, I'm arriving in LV around 11:30AM and would be happy to split a cab (Bellagio) if the logistics work. Otherwise, look for me at the biscuits and gravy section of the buffet on Saturday morning. :D
