Finally after many year of being on the fence I sacked up and decide to try out NFBC. Took part in a $125 top 3 league last week picking from the 2 hole this it what I came up.

The plan was to load up on bats and wait on SP, and target high K guys. Obviously I'm going to have WHIP and maybe ERA problems. The biggest weakness I can see is the bullpen I was on the wrong end of 2 closer runs and scrapped together what I could.
In round 10 I grabbed Chris Perez and 2 picks later Vlad was still sitting there and that seemed like too good of a bat to pass up for rd 11 so I took him in hind sight I should have grabbed another closer Street-Valverde-Thorton.
Any thoughts or opinions for this NFBC rookie would be great.

Any thoughts or opinions for this NFBC rookie would be great. Nice job- especially for a rookie. I think your main mistake was not quite getting the depth at starting pitching you might want for that strategy. You mention Vladi being great value there and I agree. He just might not have been value you can afford. Replace him with a Lilly or Hudson and I would be even more impressed. Overall though IMO that team has a chance to fight for a money finish.

Welcome aboard RV!
I was in your draft down at the other end at #15. I thought you had a strong draft and have definitely put yourself in a position to get in the money.
I agree that a true ace would have looked really nice on this squad - but I do like some of your speculative SP's. I actually have a thread at the Mastersball Forums about my team in this league - so if you want to get some additional feedback - I invite you to come over and post it on this thread as well. I will probably be tracking my team throughout the season here - so I invite you to join me.

I was in the draft as well and I wouldn't mind joining the conversation.
