High upside team with alot of injury risk that could be huge if it works out. Backend of the pitching staff is a little scary in that regard. thanks! if you look at my main event standings over the past 4 years, i've had a top 10 offense OVERALL most year. the thing that has let me down a bit has been my pitching. this year, i decided to make a little more of an effort with pitching. we'll see if it works

I paid $21 for him and would have paid more. things change very quickly jack. i did a lot of research on stanton and he seems to have a brain and is trying to improve on his weknesses. there was a story about him using a pitching machine to throw sliders. search for it on the internet if you want to know more about stanton wanting to be the best. people will be taking him in the 1st round next year. basically he's ryan howard (i actually have him rated higher than howard) that you can get 1 or 2 rounds later.

i paid $26 for him in the ultimate auction.

i believe Tulo had a sophomore slump as well. if you have noticed beckham's 2nd half was on track with his first season and he is raking this spring. he will be hitting in the 2 hole as well.

i'm looking for 90 runs, 19 hr, 70rbi, 14sb, .290 avg

I generally don't post in here, but was curious to hear people's insight on my draft. I was picking out of the 12 hole in the first weekend in Vegas.

C - Soto

C - Hanigan

1B - LaRoche

2B - Aviles

SS - Alexi Ramirez

3B - Chris Johnson

MI - Scutaro

CI - Freese

OF - Crawford

OF - Hamilton

OF - Chris Young

OF - Austin Jackson

OF - Soriano

U - Gomes

P - Kershaw

P - Price

P - Sanchez

P - Hudson

P - Niese

P - Happ

P - Wolf

P - Bell

P - Broxton

B - Belt

B - Tejada

B - Miranda

B - Kuo

B - Masterson

B - Ogando

B - Banuelos (stupid pick and will be drop #1)

My assessment is: good on speed, good on average and runs, a little shy in power which is where I need to concentrate my FAAB.

I think my pitching is solid, just need to add another starter for some depth.

Any and all thoughts would be welcome!

[/QUOTE]I know the article, and read it. My partner John basically received every bit of Stanton news from me in the last 2 months. I got lucky and passed on him in round 4 of the first Super league and got him at 5.7 instead. I was saying he is Adam Dunn, but 2 rounds and $6-10 cheaper.

Edit - I know Ken Magner got him in round 6 in a draft - I think one of the AC mains. That is remarkable.

Jack - we hate passing on a bargain! ;)

We landed Stanton in Atlantic City at 6.6. But last night in an Online DP we started with Pujols at 1.1 and could hardly believe that Mr Halladay was still on the board at 2.12. We took the risk and grabbed him.

I was in both the AC & NYC Main Events with Ken Magner and son. I will say this, not a big fan of being in leagues with him. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy, but it seemed like everytime I started salivating over a great value heading in my direction, there was Ken to scoop it up a couple picks before it got to me again and again and again. Ken, try Vegas next year. ;)

Glen, stop stroking my ego pal. I feel that there is blood in the water and I can sense a shark!

Great drafting with you on both weekends. Like you, not happy going against you, but you are a class act that both my son and I had a blast with in talking baseball. Good luck during the season with all of your teams.

I am still a big believer that Justin Smoak will eventually be a stud too.

Team Misguided--for anyone who knows my daughter has been drafting the main with me for a few years and this year I did a solo online main team--okay she had a swim meet but where are her priorities I ask?

Anyhoo drafted 15 and ended up using plan F

C-Ruiz-15, Salty-21

Mi-Beckham-8, Hardy-18, Lowrie-23, Rhymes-29

Ci-Tex-1, Chip-19, Freeze-20, Wallace-26

Of-Kemp-2, Ellsbury-3, Quentin-12, Span-13, Scott-16, Fransisco-22, Milledge-30

Pitchers-Kershaw-4, Schezer-5, Gallardo-6, Gio-10, Chacin-14, LaRosa-17, Pelfrey-25, Coke-27

Rp-Wilson-7, Perez-9, Franklyn-11, Romo-24, Farnsworth-28

no matter how I reach on the numbers it aint happening with the power--so waiver wire will be my friend --good luck everyone this year

Posey 21

Pudge 4

I Davis 22

Zimmerman 24

Smoak 15

Beckham 19

Bartlett 5

Hudson 5

Cargo 32

Ichiro 6

Rasmus 24

Manny 22

Guitterez 13

Vladi 18

the number next to the player is my est homer. cumulative is 230, at least 30-40 hr short. 4 players 6hr or less is the albatross.

starting pitching looks alright. i was high on hanson last year, but his K9 dipped SIGNIFICANTLY in 2nd half last year and is still low in spring training. he may be learning how to pitch instead of striking everyone out.

Bucholz & Bumgarner - no problem. garza never did it for me. matusz is fool's gold pitching in that division. luckliy i got over my mancrush on him last year.

RP - job well done. 3 closers to start the year!

Shawon-O-Meters wow, crawford and hamilton? Nice! A few small holes but some great players for sure, Assuming a few of your infield picks work, and you have have to only replace 1-2 could be very nice

With Wolf, Happ, and Sanchez and no real options on the bench, you have a real WHIP problem. Like the team as a whole though.
