Dustin Pedroia

Update via Sportsline

Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia returned to Boston after his team's 11-6 win over New York on Wednesday to get his right knee checked out. The Boston Globe reports there is a possibility he faces surgery that would sideline him at least a month. He injured his knee on May 16 versus the Orioles and he said his lack of production at the plate is attributable to his knee and surgically repaired left foot. "It could keep me out a month," he said. "It's not what I want. But I have to get it checked out. It's been bothering me a lot. It's hard to hit with something is wrong with your legs." Pedroia went 1 for 3 with an RBI on Wednesday. He's been ruled out of the series finale on Thursday against the Yankees.
