The truth of the matter is that Gekko is right and the play was to sit Porcello this week if you had other options. For the one team I still have him on, he's on the bench. However, I did have better options.
Doughy's point that there are likely many teams out there without better options or even other options considering every team likely has most of their bench spots filled with DL'd players in the year of the injury has to be considered. I'm starting a number of players this week where if I had other choices, I wouldn't be.
Joe, as far as you starting Porcello on a gut call. Don't beat yourself up. We all make gut calls. Last year around this time with Brandon Morrow struggling, I started him in a 2-start week against the Yanks & Rockies in a week where the majority of others were likely benching him. He pitched lights out both games which started his run into fantasy relevance. This year, I tried the same with Javier Vazquez and watched him get mutiliated both starts. Gut calls sometimes come up roses, sometimes they stink of something else. Either way, we all make them sometimes.
I took Doughboy's post to also mean that it serves little purpose to come on here after the game and boast about how smart you are and how stupid others are. Poor taste in my opinion. Most people choose to use the board as a place to rant about the debacles their team is or has encountered. Most don't try to rub salt in the wounds of half the folks that started him. Would I have started Porcello if I had him and could help it? No, but again I don't think that is the main point here.
dough's post was made before i said anything about about me personally owning porcello. reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it chad
My intuition was obviously strong in this case. I feel it is typically is a strength of mine. I read and comprehended it perfectly, and took it one step further with intuition and was obviously correct, thus the post. Nice try, but wrong yet again.
As for the Amtrack thing, you were grasping at straws. You even admitted that there is nobody that thinks I did anything even close to wrong. Thus the post you made was stupid, as it insinuated that I did, since you took my post as though I insinuated that you did something wrong.
In reality, if you were reading and comprehending, you would see that I was simply giving your credit for making incredible pitching calls. Uncanny really, or is it?
And as for Hells post, it was a big difference from yours. If you do not understand the differences, then you sure as hell shouldn't be calling anyone out on reading comprehension as you obviously need some work.
