Joe Nathan (elbow) pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning, striking out two, for Class AAA Rochester during a rehabilitation outing Saturday. His fastball reached 93 miles per hour.
Two paths for Nathan getting the closer gig...
1. The Twins obviously want Nathan as their closer. They began the year that way. They are paying him 11.5 million to close, not setup. Nathan to close, Capps to set-up.
2. With the Twins having the worst record in the American League, they are likely out of the playoff picture, Capps could very easily get traded to a club like the Yankees or Rangers. Nathan would assume the closer role.
Anyways, the window for acquiring Nathan for cheap (under $30) is quickly closing. Good luck.

[/QUOTE]come on Mark, you're a top player and have proven it over many seasons. It may be an off year for you but one of your teams is still a good candidate to finish in the money.

anyways, thanks for the "pick me up" post. i really do appreciate it.
