Kevin Youkilis has never played in 150 games in a season....

Before ending his career with Houston and Detroit, Eddie Matthews played with three teams....

The Braves, the Braves, and the Braves.....

He is the only player to play on the Boston Braves, the Milwaukee Braves, and the Atlanta Braves.....

Last night, Scott Baker had relievers who came in and gave up one run in four innings. Before that, relievers who entered Baker starts had an era of 6.47, second worse in the Bigs.

Teammate Carl Pavano has relievers who are 6.62 in his starts.....

Note to self: Do not take Twins starters next year unless they improve their bullpen...

Lance Berkman leads the National League with 23 home runs. The last time he hit 30 home runs in a season was 2007....

He has never led the National League in home runs....

Since June 29, Drew Stubbs box score reads....

18-0-2-0 with nine strike outs.

Jason Bay had two homers last night. The third time he has had a two homer game while with the Mets.....

Unfortunately, he only has six home runs in all the other games he has played with the Mets.....

A short conversation at the softball park last night....

Me: Lester left the game early tonight.

Red Sox Fan: Why?

Me: Strained lat

Red Sox Fan: What is that?

Me: I don't know

Red Sox Fan: At least it's not an oblique

Billy Butler has an empty .300 average this season....

Six home runs, which matches Matt Downs and an 89th ranked 35 rbi....

Thankfully, he only has 20 doubles so the experts can stop saying that the 'power is coming'

He is what he is, a gap to gap hitter....

Hunter Pence has attempted only four stolen bases this year.....

In the previous two years he attempted 52....

Ichiro is hitting .277......

His previous low in batting average was .303.....

James Shields has not allowed a stolen base this year....

Despite having John Jaso as a catcher who has thrown out just seven of 44 runners this year....

Mark Ellis box score since joining the Rockies....

22-7-11-7 with two hr's and a sb....

It is close to All-Star time...

Ray Fosse and Pete Rose will forever be linked for their All-Star game crash at home plate....

Ray Fosse lived and grew up in Marion, Illinois...

The same place Rose did his time for gambling on baseball...
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Good stuff. Sheilds leads the majors in pick-offs and if he can make it stick, he'd be the first righty to do so since the 80's. I read that somewhere, but I don't remember where so I can't credit my source.
Chance favors the prepared mind.
