Probably safe to cut Melancon. Yikes!!! You know, that lineup brings me back to my youth growing up as a Mets fan in the late 70's, early 80's.

Just for the sake of reminiscing, I googled an old Mets lineup from the summer of 1980.....

Lee Mazzilli - OF

Frank Taveras - SS

Claudell Washington - RF

Steve Henderson - LF

Mike Jorgenson - 1B

Joel Youngblood - 3B

John Stearns - C

Doug Flynn - 2B

Craig Swann - P

Yikes!!!! Wow, it's amazing I remained a baseball fan.

Good work Glenneration X, 1980 was the first year I watched any baseball, also collected cards that year so I remember all of the guys in that lineup. Not a great era in Mets history.
