25 observations....
1. Wandy Rodriguez is 9-9 with the Astros.
That's like 16-7 on a real team....
2. Bronson Arroyo was named after Charles Bronson. Still, one of the coolest first names in the Bigs...
3. Matt Holliday- "MOTHerfu**ers!"
4. September call ups are soooo unfair for small market teams. Starting clocks for top prospects without enough time to get a real looksee.
5. Jason Motte- "Hey Holliday, who you callin' a MOTTErfu**er?"
6. Every time a quake hits the east coast, Phil Coke racks up a save.
7. Mike Pelfrey as a closer....oh, those wacky Mets.
8. Ryan Braun has 29 stolen bases while hitting in front of a power hitting left handed hitter.
How many will he have next year when keeping the 1b anchored isn't a thought?
9. I don't miss the weekly faab hype reports.
10. Lindy has won more money than some WCOFF'ers have won/lost.
11. Remember back in school, the prank putting a piece of paper on a friends back that said 'Kick me!'...
Somebody should do that to Mike Pelfrey before he takes the mound that says, 'Steal on me!'
He's allowed 23 thefts in 25 tries.
12. Why do people go to Astro's games?
13. A new trend for men is to have a tattoo of their last name on their manpart.
Jarrod, if you're one of this group...A tip of the hat.
14. Is Joba a mental 'midgy'?
15. The Astros are already mathematically eliminated. Never put off till September what we can do in August.
16. Jorge Posada once 'quitting' after being ninth in a lineup seems to be more ok with being benched regularly.
Somehow, that's more respectful.
17. The Mets only have one player hitting with consistent power, Duda, Duda....
18. The Royals look to have another wonderful team in Omaha next year.
Dayton Moore may be the first AAAA General Manager.
19. Somebody should put a marshmallow in Kevin Youkilis and Jayson Heyward's locker.
According to some, Heyward's career path could follow that of JD Drew's.
20. Pittsburgh has as many wins as the Padres now.
Cleveland, as many as Cincinnati now.
The world is back on its axis once again.
20. Kevin Kouzmanoff signed by the Rockies.
Yeah, the Rox do not have an iota of hope for Ian Stewart.
21. Wandy Rodriguez gives up four in the first inning at Coors today.
It would almost serve the Rockies right if the Astros 'Rios'ed' Wandy and let the Rockies pay that huge salary.
22. Anybody who looks at Bartolo Colon had to know that he could eat innings.
23. Jaime Garcia and Bud Norris are petitioning the Union to shorten the season to four months. They've turned into pumpkins.
24. It amuses me to see MVP articles by writers before the pennant races heat up.
C'mon. It's like calling a horse race at the 3/4 pole.
25. ARod came off the dl just in time to have a problem with his thumb.
Is that his poker dealing thumb?

This is not accurate. From September 1 on, teams may use any player from the 40 man roster in games. Service time only accrues for those on the 25 man roster.

He won many a bar bet after bragging that he had a package that went below his knees.

[/QUOTE]September service time indeed does count against super-two/arbitration etc. This is one reason why Desmond Jennings' call-up was delayed. If you look at Cot's contracts, you will see has accrued service time from his 2010 call-up.
The point of confusion may be that September time DOES NOT count against days on the roster with respect to rookie of the year eligibility. The ROY eligibility has a maximum AB or IP component as well as days on the roster limit.

Bedeviled by use of pharmaceuticals intended to improve his game on the field, his game off the field, well, dwindled.
Instead of bearing his proud last name, the imprint on his smaller staff now was imprinted with just his nickname.
After a date with a famous hollywood starlet at the Super Bowl. He took her back to his place for an intimate rendezvous.
It was cut short (pun intended) when she could not stop laughing about the contradiction that was in print and what lay beneath the print.
Just havin' fun...
