Who Is Leading The NFBC After Week 26?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Sep 26, 2011 3:34 am

With three games left, Lindy Hinkelman holds a 15.5 point lead over KJ Duke for the $100,000 grand prize. Lindy is trying to become the first own in ANY High-Stakes Fantasy Sports contest to win the same overall title TWICE. This would be quite a feat, but KJ Duke is hot on his tail. This should be a fun three day...and maybe more!! :D Good luck all.

Great job guys and good luck during this last week. Here's the Top 50 teams for that contest:

What's interesting is that they are both tied in WINS with 104. Lindy has Volstad going and KJ Leblanc today. Whoever pulls out that W could be the winner. Wild stuff ! :D

Hey Champ, that is CRUEL stuff. Imagine $80K riding on Volstad & LeBlanc.

I have this vision of Lindy walking around a pig pen knee deep in mud listening to the game on his farm in Idaho. Meanwhile, KJ is sitting at an outdoor cafe facing the Pacific Ocean watching the games on his laptop in California. Worlds apart and both with the same goal. Gotta love baseball. Good luck boys!

Can you imagine something that important being decided by crappier pitchers? It's be like John Lackey or Bruce Chen against Jeff Niemann or some rookie to decide who goes to the playoffs. Oh, wait.

Just prior to the line drive DP and after the 4th walk, Dusty was walking up the steps to pull his closer, but his pitching coach grabbed his arm and apparently told him Arredondo wasn't ready yet in the pen. Dusty looked disconcerted, but backed down the steps and watched Cordero get smoked on one of his rare pitches that found the plate, but it was hit right to the second basemen who stepped on the bag for a double play. Advantage Lindy.

Who will get the breaks today? Hard to believe this six month grind is going to come down to perhaps one play of one game, but it looks as though Lindy and I are in the same boat as the Red Sox, Rays, Cards and Braves. No crowds cheering behind us, just my dogs and Lindy's pigs wondering what we're yelling about.

Thanks to all that have wished me luck on the boards and via email, it's been a blast fighting it out until the last day. You're all invited to Vegas in March for a drink or so on me if I can pull it out! :D

This is an unbelievable race. Good luck today KJ, good luck Lindy. Either one of you would make a great champion. Two of the greatest players in our game, win or lose.

KJ is way too busy to respond at the moment.

He is busy creating his concoction of food poisoning to have the Cubs pre-game spread marinate in........little Ex Lax here, a little mold there, and some 6 month old bacon in tribute to my fine competitor!

:D

Best of luck to the both of you. A great champion awaits the rest of us.
Both are so polite I don't think we'd hear a single swear word!! :D Well, okay, maybe KJ would throw out an F-bomb or two, but certainly not Lindy!! :D

What a wild finish and what a way to decide the NFBC champion. Good luck everyone.
I think that unbelievable set of circumstances yesterday with Cordero's save cost me $100k.. It probably would've been a 10+ point swing.

Likewise, Chris Sale's implosion in the 9th cost me about 15 points. Bad luck all around, but taking nothing away from Lindy - that guy is tough to beat. Congrats again Lindy, I'm guessing you'll have me by about 5-10 points.

I'm exhausted, I'll need a good 3-6 months to recover. Good night baseball.

It was quite the battle, KJ. I'm guessing the final outcome will be about a 2 point swing either way. I know its going to be hard to sleep tonight without knowing the final outcome.

The LaBlanc win was huge for you. I was hoping for 2 more games tomorrow as I had quite a few players and you had none. But these last 3 days have just wore me out, so maybe its the best that the season ended tonight. There sure was some fantastic games this week.

Congrats Lindy and KJ! 2.5 points separating you both on over 6,800 combined points is amazing.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
