in fact, i'll consider hitter/hitter in the 3rd and 4th as well. might be the only way i catch up to you guys. u guys battle each other over pitching while i load up on hitters

Punting starting pitching is certainly a creative idea--- and might actually hold some value if it can be pulled off effectively. listen - if ALL of the big guns SP are gone, why am i going to take a substandard SP? just to keep it close? i don't think so. you guys are too good. i'll go hitter/hitter and see what u guys do next. much like chess :D

1.11 Pitcher Rube Waddell 1904.

Some interesting facts about Rube:

- won 24 major league ball games and then decided to pitch college ball

- was a free spirit who liked to drink and fish causing him to miss games

- was crazy about fire engines and reportedly missed several games because he would follow the fire truck

Despite all that....pretty crazy numbers. Not a clear choice which season to take - decided to go with the plus Ks.

It's close. I had his 1905 season rated slightly higher.

But that's one of the interesting things about this league........When you have a pitcher that has 2 of the top 20 greatest fantasy pitching seasons of all time, can you really be wrong picking either one.

I had '04 SLIGHTLY higher as well, it really boils down to how we each treat ratios. The counting stats have a "fixed" value, save for the "excess" you have over the person below you. The value of the ratio stats ultimately depend on the final IP totals, with same "excess" caveat for counting stats.

I wonder what happened to the list of who is logged on -- it disappeared soon after the switch to STATS, that would have been a way to see if someone was in process of checking so they could make a pick.

I pulled the data from Fangraphs (I know B-R is the official source) and they had Mathewson with 285 -- interesting.

I'll just have to cross check from B-R going forward, not a problem.

Corrected version is uploading, it will take a few minutes, my server is a little slow tonight.
