I'm going off the reserrvation and really shaking things up. This is the round where a direction has to be taken. I considered tanking steals, but have decided to go completely in the opposite direction:

Shortstop Maury Wills 1962 .299 130-6-48-104SB

May God have mercy on my soul.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yogi_Berra 597 at bats...With those numbers and just 12 strike outs.

How incredible is that?!

With our next pick, we will take the last of the "premium" catchers....

Bill Dickey 1937

AVG .332

HR 29

RBI 133

R 87

SB 3

Certainly - those years are a toss up and we just thought 1937 was better.

I also had Dickey's 1937 season slightly ahead, but it's close either way. It's hard to argue with .362 from the catcher position though

Gekko nice pick with Soriano man. He is actually my favorite baseball player of all time. Loved him on the Yankees, it is hard to watch him now a days but for a two or three year stretch he was awesome. Great pick.

Bill Dickey appeared as himself in the movie, 'Pride of the Yankees'

Before Gehrig let anybody else know about his disease outside of his family, he told his best friend, Dickey.

Dickey was the first catcher to catch one handed. With the poorer equipment then, two handed catching was thought to be a must.

He was also the first catcher to go a season without a passed ball.

Besides the war years, the Yankees would only really need two catchers during the 30's, 40's, and 50's, Bill Dickey and Yogi Berra.

Just a heads up with the tracker -- I am going to be leaving on a jet plane real early Monday morning, landing in Phoenix and heading directly to an AFL game. I will likely not have Internet access until later afternoon/early evening on Monday.

For the rest of the week, my access will be a little spotty. I will post the tracker a couple times a day, but not as frequently as I am presently.

As mentioned, you can add in stats yourself. If you think you will want to do this next week, please mess around this weekend and get all questions out of the way.

THANKS!!

Dough.....fill us in on left-handed throwing catchers sometime. I can't remember any. Were there any? damn, Left-Handed Catchers and Cross-Handed Hitters are two of my four fantasy team names. I did look up the list of LHCs. Not sure if there ever have been any CHH but I bet there have been.
