Herges goes for 17 dollars, where most leagues had several 100 plus bids... unbelievable

On Herges--I watched him a plenty last year--fine in the 8th inning--terrible in the 9th. I wouldn't want him on my team, hence no interest in bidding. Vegas 9 is taking some heat, but we seem to be doing pretty well in the overall league standing. Go figure? I guess we're not all morons.

Chest,
Did you get skunked on Herges? Could only having 1 closer and that closer being a Brewer, be the chink in the armor that LV5 is looking for?

Interesting on Herges (I got him Chi #2 for 188, runner up bid of 109), in the NFBC 20 leagues, there were at least 32 bids of 100 or more, at least 20 greater than 175, 15 greater than 200, and two greater than 300.
In thirteen of the leagues, both the winning and runner up bid was over 100, and in four of the leagues, both the winning and runner up bids were greater than 200.
LV9 the winning bid was 17 with the runner up being 13. And I did not see a bid for Brower, the other half of the sweepstakes (I looked at all the teams in LV9 and did not see Brower on a roster, but I could have missed it).
Well, going against consensus is one way to win leagues, but I sure hope LV9 doesn't know something the rest of us don't!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Actually we stayed out of trying to bid for Benitez replacement, just too much uncertainty and too much chance that the replacement comes from another team. We may be in first but you should not have to look too hard for a couple of chinks in our armor.
