New NFBC Message Boards Coming

Well, as you can see our NFBC Message Boards are getting hit by spam again and we are unable to stop it. These UBB boards are old and need to be replaced, which we are planning on doing. We've tested out some new boards and are anxious to move to them in the next month or so.

Some of our customers have even tested out the new boards and helped us add a few new features. They look very similar to these boards and have more features, including avatars for each poster and more graemlins.

We are doing all we can to transfer our history of posts and that is what is holding up our transfer to the new boards. We won't switch boards until we can figure out a solution there, one way or another. No matter how it works out, we will have access to all previous posts.

But some of those posts are being targeted by spammers and unfortunately they are clogging up our current boards. Sorry about that. Heck, it seems like our old Fanball threads are being specifically targeted, which I'm not sure why. But hopefully we can cure this soon and get our new message boards live. Thanks for putting up with this small road bump for now.

Just a heads up here that we think we have a solution for transferring our 8 years of Message Board posts to new software. We're not positive that this will work, but we are hopeful. This might occur next week, so stay tuned.

During the transfer -- which could take a few days -- posts that are being made on these boards likely won't be later transferred to the new boards. I don't consider that a big deal since it will be over only a couple of days, but it obviously could be a factor with that monstrous All-Time League thread where you guys are making draft picks. That thread will continue to be live and won't be interrupted, but it's possible that the posts made during the days we are transferring data won't be saved to the new Message Boards. So just be aware of that for Todd and everyone else who is registering the draft picks for that league. Most of that thread will remain, but just a heads up that a few pages won't transfer over.

I'll let you know when this process begins, but just a heads up for Todd and the Gang.
