(1) Cell phones are not allowed in the testing room

(2) Only two types of calculators are permitted, the Texas Instruments BAII and the HP 12C

(3) Must present a current/valid government-issued photo ID

(4) Exam ticket, photo ID, calculator, and writing instruments must be kept on desk at all times

(5) The following items can be kept in your pockets or in a transparent plastic bag stored under your chair: wallet, erasers, batteries, pencil sharpeners, eyeglasses, earplugs, medicine, tissues, food, beverages

(6) Items that are specifically NOT permitted:

(a) baggage of any kind such as backpacks, handbags, totebags, briefcases, or luggage

(b) study materials including notes, papers, textbooks, or study guides

(c) scratch paper, present/future value tables, or calculator manuals

(d) highlighters, correction fluid/tape, or rulers

(e) cellular telephones, cameras, pagers, headsets, computers, electronic organizers, PDAs, or any other remote communication or photographic devices [/QUOTE]lol, they've really ramped up the rules since I finished the CFA. All I remember is no calc's with memory. One way to keep it exclusive, I guess, kinda like the HOF veteran's committee.

The rule was and is the same for every city and it's spelled out clearly in the rules: Laptops are allowed, but the NFBC will NOT allow power outlets during the draft. Bring a powerful battery. All of the KP facilitators in each city have been told to enact this rule.

What happened in Las Vegas last year was we started the NL draft with an owner plugging in and the other owners agreed to allow equal access with a power strip. That was okay for one individual auction league since everyone was on the same page. During the late Friday drafts, we asked an individual league if they were willing to do the same thing and all of the owners agreed. On Saturday during setup while I was running around getting each league setup, guys were finding outlets under the carpets and before I knew it there were several owners with power.

This year we'll have to hold hard and fast to the rules and owners be damned. As for the breaks, you are allowed to power up your computers if/where you can find the outlets.

Greg/Tom,

Just an FYI as I don't think all the facilitators were aware of the OUTLET RULE last year. One of our facilitators continually offered me, to no avail, extension cords to hook up my laptop up.

I just couldn't oblige in consideration of the rules and the fact that the guy next to me had all his cheat sheets made up with pencil and paper.

But I can still bring my Super Super Soaker Xml right? It's the newest model with Lazer Capability. It can vaporise a cubic yard of concrete from 3 miles in a gigasecond without any collateral damage. Great for plinking. Only weighs 3.3 Ozs., fits in an Altoids Tin and has the new self generating Hydro interuppter eliminating the need for a water supply. Also does wind speeds to 80 MPH. That's not the right model. I'm talking about the SSS-XmL. It has a perpertual power source that recharges from oxegen in the atmosphere.

It's also avaiable in 47 designer colors.
