Ultimate Draft Satellite?????

Post by Big Fish » Sun Feb 12, 2006 7:57 am

Hey Tom and Greg,

Just a quick thought. Without a full 15 team league for the Ultimate draft in NY, is there any interest in an online draft?

For me, if we cannot get a full league to attend a live draft, it would make just as much sense to draft online or by phone.

I am still hopeful that we will be able to field a 15 team league in NYC, but right now we are short, and just wondering if you have considered other options to throw out in the event we dont have enough to go live in NYC.

For me, I would prefer to draft from my home if we cannot get everyone to attend in person. It would save me a lot of time and some sleep (draft at 10:00am) as I would be driving to NYC for the event. Without all the teams present in one room drafting, it just wont have the same flavor.

Either way I am in, just trying to get a feel for your thoughts in the event we dont have enough.

your amigo.

Matt

Matt We will hook up everyone via telephone in New York, Chicago and Tampa to complete this second Ultimate Draft League. The guys in New York will meet at the Hilton, but touch base with us if there is a problem getting there live. But trust me, that second league is a go as we have three teams right now interested in that final spot.

As I previously stated, I am in regardless and therefore not interested in giving up my spot to one of the three very interested teams you mention.

I plan on winning this Greg.

I plan on winning this Greg. Just make sure you're prepared. Two years in a row sitting next to me in the main event, you asked me many times, "Is so-and-so available?" :D :D :D

Then last year you go out and steal Jason Bay in the 9th round, one pick before I take him.

Looking forward to the event, and sitting next to you for the third year in a row. ;)

Hey Glenn,

Good to hear from you. I read your posts from time to time and thought you were heading to Vegas with Eddie Gillis (also from the Ocean State)

At this time I have not registered for the main event. I am going to try a Sattelite in addition to the ultimate draft, which I am probably in totally over my head. So it is safe to say I wont have the protection of Kings to help me win this year and I will finish LAST.

However, anything can change and I still have some time to make a decision on the 100k event and perhaps land in your league, and next to you for the 3rd year in a row. I figure you should win it this year because you wont have to spend your time and energies drafting for my team as well.

Hope you or Pete takes it down. I enjoyed playing in the same league as you guys.

Are you headed to Vegas?

Matt, I will be drafting in New York this year again. I wanted to go to Vegas, but it's just not in the cards (unfunny pun intended). Also for the first time, I will be doing baseball with a friend. You may remember James who had the first pick in our league last year--that's my partner. I am hoping that two heads are better than one.

James will also be my partner for the Ultimate League on Sunday. One way or another, I will see you next month. Hope you get onboard with the Main Event--that would be hilarious to end up in the same league as you again, and even funnier if you wound up sitting to my left for the third year in a row!
