FAAB Question

Greg,

Nook Logan is showing up in our free-agent pool. However he was recently sent to the minors. So since he wasn't originally drafted, is he going to remain in our free-agent pool, or must we wait until he returns to the bigs? The past few years, I thought we had to wait until he was back up (if he wasn't originally drafted), I am just curious if that is still the case.

Perhaps the better (more general) question is whether or not the FAAB (this Sunday night) will be updated with MLB opening day rosters in time? I am sure there are a few players out there that people would like to see updated in time, that currently aren't there.

Logan has since disappeared so I think my specific question has been answered. So I assume that the same rules as the past two years apply. That is if they player wasn't originally drafted in your league and is in the minors then he cannot be bid on during FAAB.

STATS will be keeping track of everything so the rosters should be updated for Sunday.

What is the decision on guys who were picked up in the one week of FAAB but were not drafted and will not start the season on a ML roster? 2nd part if you allow it to stay and they get dropped do they stay in the player pool or not?

Here is the free-agent description from our rules section. It will apply throughout the season:

Any player who is not on a team roster within your league and is on a major-league roster or once was on an NFBC team in your league is considered a free agent for that league.

There is no such thing as a 40 man roster after the season starts.

(1) players on the 25-man active major league roster

(2) players on the 15- or 60-day disabled list of a major league team

(3) minor league players who were once on an NFBC team in your league

Hope that clears it up...
