List of Bugs for STATS

Post by Spyhunter » Sun Apr 09, 2006 7:48 am

Greg,

There are a couple small bugs that are happnening. Here is the list I have noticed. Everyone else please chime in as there is probably stuff I haven't noticed

1. Live Stats: Players will 'fade in and out' I noticed this multiple times with pitchers. And no, refreshing the screen didn't help...

2. NOW FIXED!!!! Live Stats: At the bottom of the live stats screen, the system last year listed what you have done both hitting and pitching week to date. Now it only shows Hitting.

3. Free Agent Bidding Page: When you are changing a bid, try selecting 'edit' on the 'Add' column. The list below then gives you the choice to 'change bid' for each player which is correct. HOWEVER, then select the Player name column which is critical if you want to find someone NOT on the first page of players (pitchers has 5 pages of names). All of a sudden, the list is sorted alphabetically (which is correct), but then the column changes to 'Place Bid' instead of 'Change bid'!. This is a really annoying one!

4. Players show as having different elgibility than they really have. For example, Eli M. is shown as Catcher, but when you drill onto his profile, he is only elgible for Outfield.

5. From Sensei:On my $1250 NL Auction team, Marlon Anderson, Jeff Cirillo, Shane Victorino, and John Mabry are all listed as pitchers and haven't been accumulating hitting stats.

6. VERY CRITICAL: Players available on the list, but when you search for them it doesn't show a profile and takes you to a different person. Try Smith for example- it takes you direct to Travis Smith, it doesn't let you choose Jason Smith!

7. I was just looking at my team using the Team Stats function. I noticed that for Period 1, it saids that Hanley Ramirez had 0 stolen bases. He had a stolen bsse 2 days ago. When I set the period to 'Fantasy YTD' it shows his proper stats (1 SB).

8. From Bjoak: Again, on a Mac live stats work now, but the weekly and daily totals don't show between the active and bench players like they do on a PC.

9. From Buster (small bug) When you click on a free agent, the Week 2 stats show the week beginning on SUNDAY April 9 and continuing to SATURDAY April 15. While this would be accurate for the real world, (Sunday through Saturday), it doesn't work too well with our Monday through Sunday league.

Small Enhancements

1. On the 'Set Lineup' page, please show next to the players name, the list of elgible positions for hitters (except UIIL for hitters because that is obvious). Now you have to go to each players drop down to find out where they are elgible for. Not a life changing problem, but owuld be helpful

2. Stats should go look at the ESPN site. They are able to show as much or more data on their team page and their league page as takes STATS multiple huge pages...

From Jersey Paul: (Personally, this is a very low priority if fixable at all): The red highlight for expected starts is really hit or miss, it can't be relied upon when setting lineups.

I got multiple Requests for: Free sites have real time standings updates, one would think that this feature is a bit overdue. That really adds to the enjoyment and anything that encourages participation should be important.

Anyone else have some ideas?

Chris

A small add...

When you click on a player to be bid on to see their history...it would be nice to see the team they played for listed next to the year.

On my $1250 NL Auction team, Marlon Anderson, Jeff Cirillo, Shane Victorino, and John Mabry are all listed as pitchers and haven't been accumulating hitting stats.

Did not read the entire thread- but when you type in a last name for a search the results are not always correct. That is a big one for me.

The temporary solution I've used in the meantime is to go to 'Roster --> Roster Grid' and used the search function ('Ctrl F') to see if someone is rostered. But you're right, STATS needs to fix this one.

And, as always, live standings are a simple improvement that it is silly not to have just for pure number of people who want them.

Some stats for Wily Mo Pena are definitely not being counted. I am off an RBI, a run and a hit. They show up in Week 1 team stats but not when I sort by Fantasy YTD.

I have no idea if this has to do with him being listed as an SP, but gives me reason to believe others may not have all their stats being counted.

Tom/Greg,

Certainly not as important as the point above, but the 'This Scoring Period' of the Live Stats page does not update for Pitching. Hitting is fine.

While we are at the less than terribly important problems with STATS, here is another one.

Jeff, maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but Pena's stats seem correct on your team page. One-for-three, 1 RBI, one double. I'm not sure if this was updated earlier, but it looks right now.
I'm a WMP owner too and I checked his YTD stats about 3:00 CST today and it was missing his 1 AB that generated a Run and RBI. Now it's there, so I'd say it was corrected this evening.

Chris Chris, thanks for your suggestions. All of these were forwarded to STATS and here's the status as of today:

1) We could not repeat this - I'll keep an eye on it.

2) Fixed

3) Fixed

4) Fixed. Marrero will be listed as OF.

5) Fixed

6) Fixed

7) I did not see a problem with this. I logged in to every team who owned Hanley Ramirez and his stats looked fine.

Small Enhancements

1) no update

2) Can he be specific?

Other ideas

- Player Search - fixed

- projected starters: can he give a specific example where we missed one? Keep in mind this is only "PROJECTED" and changes are often made just before game time

- again batters listed as pitchers: fixed

Greg,

I can log in without a password. Have been doing it every year since we started and have posted about it before...

As long as I know my user name it let's me in. Not sure how serious this is but it could be very serious if someone else knows my user name and can do the same.

From STATS: You must enter a password to login. This user is already logged in on his computer, so that's why he's seeing that he doesn't need to enter a password. If another user had his username, he could absolutely NOT login by simply entering just

a username. If you have this user click on the "logout" link on the My Teams page and then try to login again, he'd be required to enter a password.
Greg,

I happen to be a software developer and do lots and lots of authentication. It is NOT because I am already logged in and the computer recognizes me. It is a bug, acutally a few bugs.

If I login on the on the page that has the checkbox that says remember me and I mark it is checked, then close the browser. When I come back, I come back to the home page and I AM NOT AUTOMATICALLY logged in. That is the 1st bug. Next, if I just put in my login name with NO PASSWORD I am allowed to get in. That is the 2nd bug.

They are using cookies and seem to be a little confused is all. I am going to guess that are passing the value of the password cookie instead of the fields on the form when I click the Sign In button myself. If the password field is blank, they should not use the value in the cookie...

Kris Benson is in my active lineup, yet had no stats in my live scoring.

I waited 30 seconds and nothing happened.

Hit refresh and nothing happened.

About a minute later, his stats appeared.

Very odd...
