My lifetime ranking says my "average rank" is 135. How can that be possible when I finished 105 last year and am currently 91? It doesn't somehow account for satellite leagues, does it?
Also, is there any way to check on other league standings, like other satellite leagues and the ultimate leagues?
Finally, is there any way to view draft results from the midseason leagues? They aren't available in the area that holds all the other draft results.

I guess no one wants to answer you so I'll have a crack.
There are two possibilities:
1) although someone may have low ranking than you over last year and this, they may have a failry high one from 2004 that leapfrogs them over you.
2) A lot of successful co-managed teams have went their seperate ways, thus both names/players retain such ranking from previous years.
I suspect the answer is a combination of both.

I should have been clearer as I suspected someone might get confused. My "rank" is 92. That is the regular rank where I am the 92nd person. There is a category next to it called "average rank" which I assume averages together your place in the standings over previous years and also seems to be the category from which your actual rank is derived, except mine seems inaccurate.
I guess my question, then, is: How is "average rank" derived?(perhaps this only works if I state a proper question)

I guess my question, then, is: How is "average rank" derived?(perhaps this only works if I state a proper question) We are doing each year based on 300 teams and will do that going forward as well. So where you finished in 2005 is your ranking as we had 300 teams. In 2004 when we had 195 teams, it's your ranking x 1.538. This year with 330 teams its your ranking x 0.909. Make sense?

[/QUOTE]Well, not necessarily. Let's take a look at my numbers that I'll copy and paste directly from the site:
2005:
105 Big Alameda Machine Brian Oakchunas
2006:
97 Big Alameda Machine Brian Oakchunas
97x.909=88.173
Average of 88.173 and 105 is 96.59.
Therefore my average rank should be 96.6 and my lifetime rank should be 49, but the site says the following:
92 Brian Oakchunas 139.0
where 92 is the lifetime rank and 139 is the average rank.
The difference is over 42 points and I lose 43 spots in my actual rank. If it's accurate I don't understand at all where the 139 comes from.

In the Lifetime Standings you'll notice that co-managers are also listed because at some point teams split up and go on their own. Thus the actual Lifetime Standings is off because of the way we number this to keep track of owners and co-owners. I can look into the rest with STATS.

I'm not sure how the lifetime rankings work, but I didn't even make the list. Is there a cutoff point where I am below or did I get missed. I finished in the top 50 last year (of course I really stink this year). Just curious.

I think bjoak is right, something is askewed. Take Shawn Childs for example. He finished 3rd in 2004, 5th in 2005, and is 35th in 2006. Hence:
2004 3x 1.538 =4.61
2005 5.00
2006 35x.909 =31.18
4.61 + 5.00 + 31.18= 41.42
41.42/3=13.80
So 13.80 should be Shawn's average rank. Instead it reads as 18?
Sticking with CC's Desperados, Kevin Deckel is still listed as part of the 2006 edition, when in actuality he is manning his own team in NY 1, but I think that his lifetime ranking is reaping the benefits of the '06 Shawn Child Desperados.
I know lifetime rankings are a bit more for fun, but it would be nice if they were accurate. I just thought that now might be a nice time to address them, as Football is still a month away, and we are sweating thru the dog days of August.

Again, the co-managers also are ranked and thus in Shawn's case it looks like his ranking in 2006 is being calculated higher than 35 because co-managers are also ahead of him. So while his rank should be 13.80, it's actually higher because of including the co-managers. But bottom line is that he's the Lifetime Standings leader under any system and you can see how his ranking compares to others.

My name keeps popping up on this thread so I thought I would comment.
If !! and when the purported inaccuracies are addressed. The adjustments should include the fact that I have played 3 years and not 2. In the inaugural season, Shawn and I guided "The Desperados" to a third place finish overall while winning our league. We also won the American League Auction that season.
The 2006 NFBC season is the first time Shawn has managed "CC's Desperados" solo. Our split was stressful but amicable. CC's D's has cashed for around 30K in leagues run by Greg. Most importantly, ALL! the checks cleared and I received half of the winnings. We got stiffed on some of the side bets we won in our midseason league last year but the NFBC had nothing to do with those. I should also mention some of the participants in that wager paid in full as agreed on the league message board.
After trying different names for the first months of this season I finally decided on "The Cape Cod Desperados" as the name of my team. I'm only competing in the Main Event, Drafted in New York #1 from the 11 hole. If "Chin Music" hadn't taken David Wright @ 10 I'd be a very strong contender. I'm currently leading all the pitching categories but WINS but I'm 23.5 points out of First place(in Fourth) due to abysmall hitting ie. Eric Chavez, Marcus Giles, Burnitz, Jenkins,Wilkerson, and Brady Clark. Rollins is starting to come around but if it wasn't for Mauer and Lo Duca my numbers would be subterreanean.
Two months to get my hitting going. I don't think I'll be able to keep my pitching numbers up. I'm going to have to go for WINS and we all know what that means.
Play ON!!!!
P.S. As G.A. mentions above, by any measure Shawn is the leader at this moment! BUT!!! I"M COMING FOR YOU PAL!!!

Greg,
Any news on the lifetime rankings? Just curious before endzone celebrations replace walk-off homeruns...
