Where are my winnings?

Post by bjoak » Mon Oct 16, 2006 3:03 pm

Not a complaint, but I was under the impression that the winnings were sent out last week and I haven't received mine yet. Should I have had them by now?

I posted on the boards last week that all of the checks were mailed out of Cincinnati on Friday, Oct. 13th. I had hoped that they would go out earlier in the week, but our accounting department for all of the F+W Publications companies (I think we have them in seven different states) is now centralized in Cincinnati. Everything now goes out of there, not Iola, Wisconsin. So it took a little longer for everything to get processed, but it still was 11 days after the season, which is pretty quick.

Look for your check soon. Believe it or not, checks are in the mail! :D

Has anyone received a check yet? The United States postal services delivers mail within 3 days at most in the 48 states-- hence, today, Wednesday 10/18 IF mailed 10/13.

I know Rick Thomas received his $20,000 check in Bozeman, Montana yesterday. First report of a cash sighting to me, but then people don't normally thank me when they get their money. ;)

Checks were cut on Friday- chances are the accountant in me says they were not mailed until Monday happens all the time. For them to go out on Friday you need an AP person who cares and a mail person who cares. Not exactly a combination that happens 100% of the time in even the best companies.

It's a very personal, very important thing. Hell, it's a family motto. Now are you ready? Just checking to make sure you're ready - here it is -- show me the money. OHHH!!!! SHOW! ME! THE! MONEY! Doesn't it make you feel good just to say that, Greg? Say it with me one time brother!

:D :D

I've heard from some people who said they have received their checks so they are on the way. I wish there was a way we could get you guys your money the day after the season ended. You'd all be happy and we'd be happy because it means everything was wrapped up quickly. Unfortunately that's not an option so all we can do is get them to our home office promptly, which we have done, and ask you folks for a little patience with the delivery process. They will arrive, that's a promise.

Got my check yesterday. There really wasn't a big hurry. It was kind of cool to get it though. If this was CDM you would likely get your check in Feb. That's when they usually paid me. Oct. or Feb.? Hmmmm!!! Which is better. Kind of a no brainer. And thanks Greg. Look forward to next year.

Eddie Gillis got his check today for over $45,000, so something must be working. Eddie said that Shawn Childs is a courier in his area and he felt for sure Shawn would tease him by withholding his check for a bit!! ;) Nah, just kidding on that one.

The check arrived today, Greg. Thanks to both you and Tom for sorting things out with accounting.

Nice formatting on this page, by the way.

If you notice the envelope that the check is mailed in has a plastic window over the address. This window will often cause the computers to have a hard time reading the address and the envelope will often end up touring the country. The plastic window over the address will often delay the mail.

We apologize for any delays for those receiving checks. We know you want to receive them immediately and trust me, Greg and I both want you to receive them immediately and we work very hard to ensure the process takes as little time as possible. I would just ask for a little more patience since it does sometimes take 10-14 business days for mail to arrive from our home office. I honestly don't know the reason why but that's the window that's been given to me. But if you sent us a W9 form or we had one from you on file your check was sent out on Oct. 13 so you should be receiving it very soon.

Again, we apologize for any delays here.

Check came today and was dated Oct. 13th so I guess we have the USPS to thank for the delays. Imagine that.
