RE Roberto Hernandez For the most part I like it- here is what I don't like about it. The obvious thing is catcher, the other obvious is you are going to have to be in real good with the big man for Sheets and my drug of choice Harden to stay healthy. The not quite as obvious thing is although I like your first 3 picks not sure you reached enough to make up for the power shortage you may encounter. The last one I may be grasping on. IMO that team can compete with somewhat healthy years from Harden and Sheets, will be very tough if you starts in the mid to high 50's from those 2. I also like you going Lilly with that combo good value guy if you have help to absorb his whip.
PS I would not get lulled to sleep that you have plenty of speed- sure Reyes and Furcal alone will get you to the top of the bottom 3rd, but no speed at all beyond them unless Gordon plays and runs. I would have liked Wells to help give you the last couple of steals more before the fat contract. If some speed came open on waivers early I would consider spending a couple of dollars.

Thanks for the feedback Chest. I think Zaun and Barajas will be servieable and wont hurt me. Totally agree with you on steals. Ill be looking for 25 swipes (hopefully) between Gordon and Winn. Lastly, I admit, im a sucker for Sheets and Harden but im pretty high on Cain and Lilly anf like the potential upside (I kow its not a guarentee) of McCarthy and especially Lester. Thanks again.

I think Zaun and Barajas will be servieable and wont hurt me. In terms of the value you need to win money, almost all catchers hurt you, and I hate them all. But in the words of Dirty Harry, and I'm paraphrasing here, especially Zaun and Barajas.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Good team. You offset some of the risk (though the kind of risk I like with some upside players) in the OF with some more upside potential in the reserves. Eventually you will have five who will provide nice value. If Gordon plays like the next coming of Wright, CM is a real strength. MI is also VERY nice. You will have to manage the pitchers to get enough W/K opportunity. What rounds did you get your relievers? It looks like you did some risk coverage there as well. Strong team...for February!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Thanks Wayne. Pretty happy with the team but definitely a risk/reward pitching staff. As for the relievers I drafted them as follows:
Jenks 6th
T. Jones 10th
Rodney 26th
Neshek 28th
Hansen 29th
R. Hernandez 30th
