OK, besides the fact that my catchers are, well....not the best, does this team stand a snowballs chance? And yes, Chest, I did take your advice on going after a good outfield. I was a little surprised at 2.14 as I had a choice between V Wells and Tejada and all I could hear was Chesty telling me to get a strong OF. So I went with Wells because he offered some steals. Hey God Loves You guy, you gotta admit that this pitching staff is a bit better.

If Podsednik stays in one piece and/or Gathright gets playing time, you should be in contention.

It's a satellite draft not an NFBC draft - which is good for you

Pitching is obviously better, but I'm not enamored with your offense. From the looks of things, you will be counting on a few players to totally carry your team and I don't see them doing that. Keep me abrest of how your season is going....I drafted last night as well, going to start a thread to see how my team can be ripped apart due to my draft being quite unorthodox.

Nothing to add but you need more SP (maybe you were looking to get some from the FAAB) but it looks like you loaded up (extra catcher, extra MI, extra OF) on offense. Not sure if you are used to trade leagues as I have seen this happen much (use the extra for trade bait SP that get off to slow starts). If I have learned anything (debatable) about the NFBC, you really improve your chances on two stats (K's and W's) by getting as many starts as possible. Right now you have five SP you can rely on with Lester and Wright as question marks. A couple of more SP would look nice.
BTW, this is picking nits. I see some real upside to this team.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Thanks guys....I only drafted the extra C because I wasn't sure what Javy was going to do this year. Didn't want to waste any FAAB money on a catcher so I thought I'd just wait and see what happens there. I do plan on spending quite a bit FAAB money on arms.....like to see what happens early and go from there. The other extra picks were for protection at 3B. I lost out on picking a solid one and like to have something to protect myself should Iwamura not pan out. It's a learning experience though and I have 3 more satellites to try and make it better.
