Orvella got the loss tonight. not a good way to start off a "set-up/closer-to-be" role

I must admit when I was looking at bids and saw the $306 for Doumit, I had to go to Rotoworld to see who the hell he was. Not looking for a catcher (I mean I have Methany and that over productive Martinez), I had no clue who he was. Rotoworld does not speak all that highly of him. The winning $2 in my league seems more appropriate.

This is another good one, from the Vegas $650 AL Auction:

Tony Giarratano, winning bid 301, runner-up 11

I guess my $109 bid on T Clark was a bit aggressive, eh? it hurts when u see no other bid!! .... still have over $500 FAAB tho ... Bad combination: desparately needing power and frustration over losing several FA's by a small margin .... stings!

RE: Chris Burke 263; 2nd highest bid = 0

Yeah, it hurt a bit, but having someone bid $264 would have hurt a hell of a lot more. With $760 to play with at the time, and a strong need for SB's and RUNS, I can live with it.

He slots into my lineup quite nicely. ;)

Burke is a nice play. You spent a lot of money, but he might have been jerked around by Houston just enough to really **** him off. Although it should mean nothing, psychically you kind of think Burke may produce even better being stuck in a corner outfield slot in order to try and justify his being there. I think he's an even bet to prodcue the numbers Biggio will from here on out. I was hoping he'd have been available to sub in for the mash squad that my team, Mark Prior's Elbow (the unfortunate team name) has become, but someone had him, and I had to settle for Desi Relaford. Sweet.

For the record, I described my team as a mash squad before I learned of Barmes trip to shop rite last night. F#!@.

Somewhat, but I doubt I'll be running to the box scores to see how Desi Relaford may have carried my team the night before. Meat Pullers really came charging up the standings, eh?
