Greg can you clarify for Sat FAAB

Post by Chest Rockwell » Fri Mar 23, 2007 3:59 am

In season a guy either has to be drafted previously, be on a roster, or be on the DL (Shealy early last year for example) to be eligible for FAAB-

A little bit of gray area with satellite FAAB this week you could nab a guy on FAAB that will not meet one of those criteria next week.

I am probably not asking the question very well so I will give an example- as far as I know Billy Butler is still in the big league camp- he gets sent down officially the last day of spring training. You pick him up in FAAB this week is that legal even though he will not meet one of the 3 in season requirements to be picked up?

Thanks

Thanks You are correct, that this is a gray area this week. Butler will remain in the free agent pool in the satellite leagues if he remains in the big league camp. If nobody drafted him and he's still in the pool on Sunday night and you have the high bid, he's on your team. I will tell STATS that he will remain on your roster even if he gets cut before Opening Day. That's just the way it goes with the early FAAB deadline for satellite leagues.

sound right?

Speaking of Butler, he is currently listed at 3b. As far as I know he has only played OF.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Butler was originally drafted by the Royals as a 3B, but I agree he should be listed as an OF (or an OF/3B). For some reason, though, he isn't eligible to be bid upon in my leagues anymore. As far as I know, he is still with the Major League team.
