Friday DL Rule

Post by Spartacus » Thu May 03, 2007 4:18 am

If my memory is correct a player Dl bound (Clay Hensley in this case) must be put on the MLB disabled list by Thurs. midnight of the particular week to be removed from the active roster and substituted for? Same rule I assume applies to main event and satellite's? Probably my oversight but I couldn't locate the written rule that speaks to this issue.

If you can't pitch him at home against the Nats, you can't pitch him at all. (For those who were wondering why the hell I had him in to begin with.) No doubt a blessing in disguise. From what I saw of his brief outing, Hensley appeared to be a mechanical wreck. I have no doubt that this contributed in no small measure to his injury. Perhaps this will give him the time to work on his delivery before he ruins his shoulder too.

13. Setting Starting Lineups: NFBC owners are allowed to change their starting lineups five minutes before the first game each Monday and that lineup remains intact for the rest of the week. However, owners are also allowed to remove a player (or players) who is officially on the DL from their starting lineup with one of their players from their reserve roster before each Friday's first game as long as the position eligibility works out. Players must officially be on Major League Baseball's DL list according to STATS and the NFBC by 12:01 a.m. on Friday for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games. The NFBC will also add players who are disabled to a DL list during the month of September when MLB teams don't normally use an official DL list.

I accidentally chose the wrong guy I wanted to activate since Phil Hughes has gone on the DL, but the system won't seem to let me change it again. Any help?

E-mail Greg/Tom/Stats...I'd guess it could be worked out.

Once you make that lineup change you obviously can't replace a non-DL guy from your starting lineup with a reserve player. Contact me at [email protected] and we'll try to help you out before today's first game.
