H2H Leagues?
I'm sure this question has been asked before, but since I'm a newbie to the NFBC this year I am curious; With H2H now surpassing 5X5 in popularity, has there been any thought of adding this format to the NFBC?

Glad you picked up on it...you're actually the first. Maybe we're dating ourselves...I'm also partial to the Gashouse Gorillas which I like using. This is my first year. I'll be drafting out of New York. Thanks for the response.

To answer your question, I don't believe there's ever been discussion about H2H on these boards. Has it really surpassed 5x5 in popularity? Admittedly, I don't exactly have my ear to the tracks these days, but that's very surprising to hear.

We have our hands full with our current format and honestly h2h baseball has NOT surpassed the 5x5 Rotisserie format. There are industry companies that provide games in h2h format and I think we'll let them fill that niche. Thanks for the question.

Are you sure? I was just at the messageboard for fantasybaseballchampionship5x5.com and there are hundreds waiting for the draft slots.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I read recently on cbssports.com several articles on the surge in popularity and preference toward H2H formats. To me, there is nothing like taking on an opponent as opposed to stat categories. Perhaps a poll to gauge interest? I noticed that there are several other types of leagues/drafts that you are offering, and I am sure that you would get an overwhelming response to a high stakes H2H format. I don't think it would require that much more effort in terms of managing it. I personally would have paid even more for this type of league. Don't get me wrong, I am very excited to compete in a 5x5 format against the best of the best, but there are dynamics and nuances that head-to-head competition offers that cannot be matched by 5x5. Just my two cents and thanks for listening. I would appreciate any thoughts that anyone has to offer on this subject, particularly from H2H competitors who cross over just to compete in this competition because of the stakes and prestige involved.

The best team rarely wins in H2H!!
I played in an H2H last year, was the #1 seed all year and lost in the finals to the #6 seed. HE got lucky!! In the beautiful world of ROTO, the better teams always wins..
