You have the order for the league - nomination for first 23 rounds and serpentine for reserve rounds, but same order.

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

i believe this is how it happens from what perry has said. before the draft, there is a nomination order determined. once the auction is over, the serpentine draft begins using the same order that was previously determined for the nomination process.
if this is true, my question is, how is the order determined?

Could be wrong, but I believe the possibility of having a KDS for the nom order, hence reserves was broached earlier.

Right now we randomly pick the nomination order for the auction leagues and then pick the reserve rounds in the order of the nomination order. These are serpentine reserve rounds, so we go 1-12 in the AL, for instance, and 12-1, 1-12, 12-1, etc.
The idea of using KDS for the auction leagues was brought up before and can certainly be done for our NFBC auction leagues. I'll tell you what, I'll start a new thread on that and I'll gladly use KDS for the auction leagues if that's what everyone wants. There is a draft preference there for auction leagues, so it's set up for us to use if that's the way we decide to go. Thanks for the suggestion.

auction reserves question
Just so I understand:
A winning KDS of 15 means that the team would be last in nomination order and first pick in serpentine draft (round 24)?
Teams 15 also get to nominate player 15 and 16 for auction?

no
unless i'm mistaken, the KDS gives you the order for the nomination and the serpentine. the nomination will remain 1..15, 1..15 as usual. of course the reserve will snake and go 1..15, 15..1..etc

Teams 15 also get to nominate player 15 and 16 for auction? No. Team 15 gets to nominate 15th at the end of each round. Team 15 gets picks 15 and 16 in the reserve round and picks at the turn in Rounds 3-4 and 5-6 and ends it in Round 7.

auction reserves question
Do we need a legal roster after 23 rounds (auction)?

Now in the draft leagues, you do NOT have to fill your 23 spots with your first 23 picks. You can take your second catcher in the 30th round if you'd like. Good luck.
