Main Event /Online Championship Combined structure
My understanding is that there will be money for the combined points winner of the two events, plus possibly money for some of the other top combined finishers... My question is when the online event was first introduced it had an estimated turnout of 400 entries. Which would of weighted both events about evenly (as far as possible points from each event). Now that there are a projected 600 entries in the online event, that event is suddenly more heavily weighted towards the total combined standings. Example if you finished with 80% of total possible points in the online event (.8x6000)= 4800 and 50% of the total points in the main event (.5x3900)=1950 you would have 6750 total points. If you swapped the results and finished with 80% of the Main Event points = 3120 and 50% of the Online points 3000, you would end up with a total 6120 (difference of 630 points). It doesn't matter to me either way, but the way I understand it now ( I could be wrong) the $350 online event will be more important in determining the overall winner. I'm just wondering if with the unexpectedly high number of online event owners, will you think of prorating those points (just for combined standing purposes) to bring them more inline with the Main Event points. In order to weight both of the events more evenly.

good point/question. the online championship points shouldn't be more valuable than the nfbc main event.

Should be something like the Percentage of Points earned.
So if you get 85% of the Main Event points and 80% of the Online points, you'd have a score of 82.5% ((85+80)/2). You could even choose to weigh the Main Event more if you want.

Agree, I'd run it as an index of pct of points, multiply each team's pct of possible points by 50x in both lges and add them together; so an index of 100.00 would be a perfect score.

[/QUOTE]Both events will be weighted equally. I just wanted to see how many online championship teams we got before announcing this. If we get to 600 teams, then the online championship ranking points will be worth 65% of the main event. That way the rank points are equal. Thanks all.
