Changing Roster for Hunter

Post by Triple Crown » Fri Jul 10, 2009 10:15 am

I have a problem with setting a lineup. Torii

Hunter is on the DL, yet the lineup page does

not show that. As a result, when I try to replace

him, the system does not allow it.

I have amply replacements for him on my bench, but

the system is not updated to reflect that Hunter

is on the DL.

He needs to have been on the DL by midnight Thursday.

Hunter was not on the dl before midnight last night, same for Vlad, same for Soto. Midnight is the deadline by which you would be able to alter your roster today.

It seems that MLB likes to put these moves through on Friday morning to screw with us. :D

Boy do I hate the DL rule! I have had this happen several times where I have a player get DL'd on Friday and not be able to sub anyone in. I would prefer no DL rule at all!

Friday D/L Rule raises its ugly head once again. Can't shout enough, because I've been shouting since Day #1.

Idea behind the rule was on the mark, but unless you open up moves on Friday, the timestamp nonsense just isn't fair.

So I take part in three Vegas drafts. Invest $2,500, $1,300, $1,300 in each. Have to watch this weekend while taking a blank from Tori Hunter on each team because he wasn't placed on the D/L by Thursday night. Meanwhile, not only to I get the blank, but guys within my leagues are allowed to replace a dead spot provided they have an available sub on the bench and a guy listed prior to Friday. This weekend was once again a shining example. Hunter, Vlad, and Soto - all DOWN before a freaking pitch was thrown today.

I hope those of us playing this game and investing sums of money shout long and hard when we are asked for our 2 cents on rule changes. Everytime this crap kicks me it gets harder to take.

Good luck this weekend guys. Sorry for the rant.

Have I mentioned lately how much better twice a week roster moves would be?

I lost Vladdy on 3 teams and Soto on 1 today.

We need the ability to replace at least 1-2 hitters each Friday who aren't on the DL. Whether they're non-DL'd but hurt, tweaked, sent down, on bereavement or whatever, we need relief.

Greg: Having Friday switches for hitters is a MUST for next year.

The only fair way to do it is no DL moves period! Set lineups on monday and live with it like all other weekly leagues.

To keep being the best a little progression is needed. Having the ability to change hitters on Friday would keep the NFBC ahead of THE OTHER leagues.

The NFBC Main Event was and is set up as a weekly run league. The DL rule made that black line grey. When a player gets injured, thems the breaks...sack up and set your lineups for the next week. At worst it's 6 days away. You are owed nothing like insurance from injuries. Not sure why people can't understand that injuries are a part of the game and act like men instead of spoiled children.

The further removed you become from the mainstream game...the less people you attract due to being unfamiliar and having new angles to "game the system". Not everyone has the desire to dedicated 100 more hours to figuring out how to exploit a bi-weekly game, and will just fail to compete, and drop out.

You'll be left with 180 game theorists competing for $50,000 after the Joe Workers and Joe Family men get sick of donating to a game tailored for the addict and retired.

Lance, We'll save this debate for the off season. I sure wish we could sit down over a beer and diet pepsi and pry into each others minds about this though. :D

DL rule is here to stay.
