This is the first year I haven't participated in the message board drafts and you have no idea what slow is. In past years you could go weeks in between picks. This is the fastest draft I've ever seen here.

I like that Halladay pick. IF he maintains that k rate, great value in the 5th.

"Dave - I am heading out shopping and will be away from PC for hours. Expect Perry to pick soon. Then you and Tradesman (who I am filing in for). Short list: Nathan, Victorino and Victor Martinez.

~Gary"

plus you have been slow to respond in the past...

ya I know.. just don't kill the messenger haha...

by the way, yes, I like the Halladay pick also, however I like my Haren pick the round before better because he has shown that K rate the last 3 seasons, whereas Holliday had a 70 k increase last season from the previous 2...

Just not a big fan of Haren's splits. He's ALMOST the Adam LaRoche of SP's.

The Halladay pick was predicated more on WHIP than K's as Walk rate is a much more predictable commodity than K rate in my estimation. Though his K-rate hasn't been elite throughout his career, Halladay's consistency in getting Wins is also a consideration. He also seems to be fully recovered from the forearm strain of 2 years ago which may have suppressed his K-rate in '07.

are Pat or Shawn ready with their picks, there really isn't a rush to get this done, but I think people are going to lose interest fast is this mock continues moving at this speed. Can we skip Red Rum for now and move on. Dave I think you are right about being able to predict the K rate, it's the IP that are harder to predict

Look guys, these are by nature slow drafts. You can't expect people to be sitting at their computers all day every day - especially on a Sunday.

BTW did anyone send him a notice?

I mean, I can tell you that Haren wil be darn close to a 1:1 K/IP ratio, whereas I have no idea where Halladay will be next year.. but yes, after Haren, Halladay is def the next best on the board there I think.. his ERA/WHIP are excellent
