So, looking into the Magic Eight Ball for 2012, how many AB are you targeting (if I may be so bold to ask)? I don't believe in targeting a particular number, I believe in trying to get as many as you possibly can.
So maybe the answer is THE MOST IN MY LEAGUE.
Yup. Did that in 2011 and Lindy still had more runs (21) and RBI's (31). He was fourth in AB and I had 157 more than him. Oh, well, sometimes you just can't beat quality.
betcha he had more top of the order guys from high scoring teams
You would think so, but not really. For example, three of his top four runs scored producers were from the top fours spots on their respective rosters as were three of four of mine. His top four runs producers were from the Yanks (#2 in MLB), the Rays (#15), the Indians (#16), and the Dodgers (#21). Mine were Boston (#1), Detroit (#4), Milwaukee (#11) and Philly (#13).
So actually mine were from the heavier runs producing teams and the numbers were similar for RBI, at least at the top of the rosters.
The difference, besides Lindy being smarter and a better in-season manager than me, was Curtis Granderson. Though Kemp, Asdrubal, and B.J. Upton helped, it really was Granderson that put him over the top in those two categories.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
