As a loyal Colby Lewis owner, I went to lunch confident that he could handle the Orioles until I returned. 19 pitches later, he has served up three straight HRs to the first three batters he faced.

Rangers starter Colby Lewis today became the first pitcher to ever allow at least five homers and also strike out at least 10 hitters in a start. In addition, he became the second pitcher, joining the Rangers Charlie Hough (who did it in 1989) to allow all five of his hits in a game to be homers while pitching at least 6 IP.

In that game, Hough also had the second most (now behind Lewis) K's (9) for any pitcher ever to give up 5+ dingers in a game. He threw 139 pitches over 7.2 innings. and took the loss against CLE 7-3.
