Do We Want To See All Bids?
I think things are fine as is. I have several years of experience being commissioner of fantasy leagues and if anyone thinks everyone can be pleased at the same time they are wrong.
I don`t think we need to see anyone elses bids other than the winning ones. If people think they need to get a lesson in FAAB bidding, then they can do what I did. I checked out the WCoFB site and broke down all transactions from day 1 to the very end. I have never worked waivers like this before and thought it a good idea to get some info on this pre-draft.
Greg,
Write an article in the newsletter about some players that got picked up and what the tendencies were. Mention what they went for and maybe have someone break it down a little bit. This is not a game of luck! It is a game of skill, experience and there is some work involved people. It would be nice/convenient to have everyone in our individual leagues remaining FAAB dollars on record.

In my opinion there is no reason whatsoever to know what someone bid on a player they didn't get, but whatever. Under no circumstance though should bids be divluged on conditional picks that weren't awarded to anyone.

I believe that losing bids should not be shown ... don't give overbidders a crutch.
Do We Want To See All Bids?
I agree. Just show the winning bids. Let people figure out their strategy by themselves...

is even supported by Dyv in one of his Cabrera posts. Duh...

Do not believe we should post losing bids for three reasons 1. We have already bid on FA's without the benefit of seeing the losing bids and to change now seems slightly unfair (especially if we go several more weeks with the current policy in place) 2. More importantly this is self adjusting. Four or 5 weeks into the season all owners will have seen all winning bids and should have enough data to make informed decisions. 3. Values are dynamic and influenced by injuries, demotions callups etc. so bidding info is not really that important since it does not provide a "true" value for anyone.

I'd rather all the bids were not available. it would be interesting to me to see how many buds were made on each player. For instance in my league:
Womack $207 (4 or whatever it was)
Kata $15 (1 or whatever it was)
Womack $207 (4 or whatever it was)
Kata $15 (1 or whatever it was)

Are you still going to bid $15?? Duh.... Well you probably would... You also would not get player X whom I project to have an outstanding year by the way.

If it has zero relevance why do you want to see it then?????
Seems like a waste of time and resources to show those bids since you claim it has no effect on anything.
You're fighting a losing battle here Geek.

You're fighting a losing battle here Geek. Since I’m in the minority on this one, I spoke to a few of my associates to see if I’m "off base". Not surprisingly, they said no.
Most owners seem to think that allowing others to see their contingency bids will give away valuable information that could thwart future bids. If that is true, I’ll make sure to throw in some total duds at the end of my contingency lists. You guys will think I’m on to some potential sleepers and bid them up.
Benefits (for me) of seeing all bids…
Gain information about my competitors (whether that info is valuable or not is another question). There are too many factors that can change an owner’s bid on the very same player from week to week.
Ensure the bidding process is working properly.
