Arizona Fall League Mock Draft

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Nov 06, 2008 4:33 am

Greg,

You have two Carlos Lee's (#26 and #63). Since Derek Lee is at #79, I assume #63 is really Cliff "Clavin" Lee?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Jose Reyes #8...AFTER Josh Hamilton?

Hamilton had a great half, but...

Whoever had the #8 pick was saying "Why can't this happen next March?"

Even with the "speed" aspect of the AFL Mock, of the three drafts posted, 159 of 180 (88%) of the players taken in the first twelve rounds were common. Another 15 players were taken in the top twelve rounds in at least two of the three mocks. In all, only 201 players were taken in the first 180 picks of at least one of the three drafts.

Some of the real outliers may be:

Dioner Navarro (Pick #255 in MD#1)

JD Drew (Pick #259 in MD#1)

Mike Mussina (Pick #273 in MD#1)

Kurt Suzuki (Pick #299 in MD#1)
