Please forgive if this has already been explained but.....
When a player is nominated, does the nominator also state an opening price? For example, do I say: "Sammy Sosa, three dollars"? and thus if no one else bids I get him at $3? Thanks!

Yes Hank we go around the room in the order of nominating players and that player throws out the opening bid. After that, it's a free for all as far as shouting out the next bid and the auctioneer determines who got it in first. So it may go, "Sammy Sosa for $3", then "$10, $11...$15, $16, $17...." now some pauses and we'll see where it lands. AFter he's sold, then the next person in order throws out the next player with an opening bid.
It's a lot of fun and it actually becomes more organized than disorganized.
